Description:

Abigail Komarc is an air pollution meteorologist with the NYSDEC Division of Air Resources, Impact Assessment and Meteorology Section. She started with the Division of Air in 2021, as a seasonal Engineering Aide, after receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Atmospheric Science from the University at Albany. She provides daily weather forecast to agency/state partners, as well as daily Ozone and PM2.5 forecasts for the public. Abigail primarily forecasts PM2.5 and was the forecaster on duty for the Canadian wildfire event this past summer. In addition, she also assists the Division of Forest Protection with forecasting the Fire Danger Ratings.
